“IT’S NOT ABOUT THE QUILT;  IT’S ALL ABOUT THE PRAYERS.”

Prayer is a powerful tool that God has provided for us. But can you touch a prayer? Can you pull it close and feel it’s warmth and comfort? How many times has someone said to you “I’ll keep you in my prayers” and you wonder if they did? You can answer these questions with a definite “yes” if it is a part of a Prayer Quilt.

“The Mission of our Prayer Quilt Ministry is to make and give quilts to those who have a physical need. Our hope is that while being covered with the quilt, God’s Love and Healing Grace will provide comfort.” 

Prayer Quilts are more than blankets. The purpose of the Prayer Quilt Ministry is not to make and distribute quilts, but to promote prayer through the use of quilts.  They are positive, physical evidence of our Faith in God, Faith in His healing, and His unconditional Grace. Each quilt has been prayed over by the women participating in this ministry and each knot represents a prayer lifted by a member of the Tabernacle congregation. 

The ministry is a caring ministry, not a celebratory one. Therefore, quilts will not be given for birthdays, weddings, baptisms or any other type of gift.  The quilts will be made by request to the Prayer Quilt Ministry.
